Leadership Southern Maryland is made up of a remarkable 169
LSM alumni from the region, representing a diversity of professions,
experiences, ethnicities, ages and passions.
They share experiences learning about our region. They are engaged in our communities, working
to make a difference in Southern Maryland! Our graduates build on their
experience by participating as board members. This year for the first time, the
LSM board president is represented by one of its alumni, Susan Vogel, class of
2009.
Our board members, along with alumni, give their time and
expertise with projects such as an LSM Scholarship Fund, a Charles County
Community Foundation Legacy Fund, the LSM LEAD Teen Leadership Program, a fresh
water restoration project at Cove Point, a shoreline restoration project at
Indian Head, a Habitat for Humanity home configured for a wounded veteran in
St. Mary’s, and a nonprofit start-up project to provide equestrian therapy for our
veterans. Our Board is living the mission of LSM and practicing our purpose, to
create Regional Collaboration for Today’s
Leaders and Tomorrow’s Vision and to make a difference in our communities,
region and state!
